Located on the ground level of the Treehouse, Hale Hapu'u is a cozy place to retreat to after a thrilling adventure at the park. The ample space in this room, makes it a perfect fit for traveling families or small groups. With one Queen bed and two twin sized beds, everyone will have a nice and comfortable spot to relax.

Enjoy your morning coffee in the enclosed lanai with a front row seat to the lush greenery native to the Hawaiian rainforest. Unwind underneath the cover of the Hapu'u ferns and spend the afternoon listening to the songs of the hidden birds in the trees. Gaze up and admire the magnificence of the strong Ohia trees that are in abundance on this part of the island.

The Pacific Island Studio on the second floor of Volcano Acres Tree House is surrounded by large windows opening into the surrounding rainforest which allows you to relax among the Hapu’u ferns or to catch a glimpse of a song bird. This studio unit is decorated in a vintage Hawaiiana style from the 50’s and 60’s.  Retro Bamboo furniture with soft tropical prints on the cushions whisper a story about the history of Hawaii.  Adorning the walls is artwork by artist-historian Herb Kane who was elected a Living Treasure of Hawaii in 1984.   The sitting area has cozy bamboo love seat that is perfect for listening to the rain patter on the roof, reading a book or enjoying time with the one you love.  Cook a quiet dinner in the full kitchen and step out onto the large deck to eat outside.  Enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep in a queen sized, colorful Twig and Alder bed, handcrafted by master woodworker Ernest Thompson.  Cozy linens and a heated mattress pad provides the perfect place to get a good night’s sleep

​​​​Imagine life among the rainforest song birds where apanepane, amau and other native species sing the day away.  With approximately 40 stairs to climb, the Tree Top Suite is situated on the 3rd  level of the house. This private room boasts 180 degree views of the native rainforest. A private lanai allows you to sit overlooking the Hapu’u ferns and become one with nature during the day. At night, gaze up at the stars through the canopy of the Ohia trees and be inspired for your next day’s adventures. Get a peaceful night’s rest in our regal King bed with elegant bedding.  A sitting area is perfect for sipping a glass of wine while watching the rain or listening to soft music. After a long day of exploring the park the en-suite bath with shower is perfect for relaxing those tired muscles!  Emerge from your shower and wrap yourself in the warmth of heated towels. Room amenities also include a wetbar and full size fridge with ice maker. Artwork by local artists Mariane Berger and Dick Mortemer capture indigenous birds in their natural environment.
